Taralee Guild was born in Thunder Bay Ontario in 1984. Currently, she lives and works in Vancouver, BC. Her praxis is almost entirely focused on traditional easel painting. The discourses of painting vs. photography and abstraction vs. realism often inform her work. Creating painting series of individual motifs, past subject matter has included film stills, figuration, surrealist handguns, and forestry scenes. Taralee has had an extensive education in Visual Arts, including a BFA from the renowned Emily Carr University. Along with participating in numerous exhibitions, she has independently currated several. The artwork of Taralee Guild has been privately collected in Sweden, Australia and the United States.
